Our access to Mount Bakewell has for decades been possible through the goodwill of Lou Kosta and his family. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude.
Recently Lou has suffered a debilitating illness which may well not have a positive outcome. In this time of crisis the Kosta family need privacy, and they need us to leave them alone while they manage the situation.
Accordingly the usual access and landing arrangements are suspended until further notice. This means that nobody is to access the launches via Lou's property, and nobody is to land on Lou's paddocks.This does not mean that flying is suspended at Bakewell. We have worked out some alternative access and landing arrangements.
For details of access and landing areas you will need to contact Cloudbase Club (Rod Merigan is the local contact) or Hillflyers Club (Rick Williams)HGPAWA will be offering support to the Kosta family via Rod Merigan and Rick Williams. If you want to offer support or good wishes yourself please do so via Rod or Rick.We will keep you updated as the situation evolves. Meanwhile I'm sure everybody is with us in wishing the Kostas all the best in this difficult time.
